Sergio Ramos’ future has finally been resolved after he and Real Madrid parted ways after a long and successful spell together. The ex-captain of ‘Los Blancos’ will leave behind 16 years worth of legacy in the Spanish captial to try begin a new journey in Paris.
Paris Saint-Germain offered Ramos the two-year contract that he had asked Real Madrid for, with his new club making his announcement official after they had leaked the deal by accident on their web page.
With the news complete, everyone was waiting for Sergio Ramos’ first interview away from Real Madrid. “It’s a big change in my life, it’s a new challenge but I’m happy to take it on. I come with the desire to work hard and win. These are values that represent the club well.”
“It’s a day that will remain engraved in my memory and it’s a pleasure to be part of this great team. I wanty to be consistent and see things through to the end. That’s what the club wants too,” Ramos continued.
The centre-back explained all that he can bring to the team of the Parc des Princes, which is nothing short of “experience, maturity, hard work, consistency and sacrifice”.
“I’m coming here to help the team to achieve its goals. I think that’s what I’ve done throughout my career and I want to give my best to help the club go as far as possible”, he expressed.
Ramos spoke about the heavyweight the club is on the world stage and labelled the togetherness of the changing room as the biggest strength to achieve success. “Winning is very difficult, but if we all pull in the same direction, that’s the key to achieving the goals we set,” Ramos concluded.
